ELECTIVE COURSES
Academic Year 2024-2025
The Plan of Study is based on 6 types of training activities (TAF) (see Art. 10 Min Decree 22/10/2004 n. 270):
a) basic training activities (TAF A);
b) characterising training activities (TAF B);
c) similar and additional training activities (TAF C);
d) training activities chosen autonomously by the student on the condition that they are consistent with the training project (TAF D);
e) activities regarding the final exam (TAF E);
f) further training activities aimed at acquiring further language knowledge and IT and computer skills, relational skills or skills that are useful for entering the job market, and traineeships with external organisations (TAF F).
The Plan of Study, including the list of course modules and other training activities, is attached to the Regulations for the Programme in Functional Genomics and can be found in the menu under Study Plan.
Students can include optional subjects (TAF D) aimed at defining their own training path based on personal interests and on the research activities that they wish to carry out for their experimental thesis.
Students submit their Plan of Study in accordance with the modes foreseen by the University.
The elective courses (TAF D) that can be included in a Study Plan are:
1) courses set up each year and developed explicitly for the training purposes of the Programme in Functional Genomics;
2) courses that are part of other Programmes at the University, as long as they are consistent with the student's training path.
All the elective courses are activated each year. Therefore, we advise students to submit their Plan of Study each year, checking that the courses they wish to attend are still active. Courses that have been included but that are then not activated must be replaced by submitting an amended to the Plan of Study.
Courses that can be included in the Plan of Study by online procedure and that are officially approved are the following:
GF - Elective Courses - a.y. 24-25
In case students choose other courses consistent with their training path, they must use forms made available at the Students’ Administration Office and ask for the approval to the Council for the Programme in Functional Genomics.
The Form (in Italian) for the request of Nulla Osta ( Modulo per la richiesta di Nulla Osta per gli esami a scelta dei CdL ) is available for the exams chosen for the CdL with programmed access: scanning of this form, duly completed and signed, can also be sent by post to the email didattica.dsv@units.it.
We advise students that while for the elective courses activated by the Programme the timetable is optimised in such a way as to avoid overlaps with mandatory courses, for other courses belonging to other Programmes compatibility with the students’ own timetable is not guaranteed and must be checked.
Moreover, for some courses taught in other Departments attendance may be restricted to a limited number of students. These courses require an authorization from the Department they are part of before being chosen.
